"Kari Moran did a wonderful interview with me. Many unique questions, and for a change, this interviewer had read my book, "The Cavendon Women". Her charming manner also added a lot to our conversation."

-Barbara Taylor Bradford

"Kari is a total pro. She put me at ease immediately and asked smart questions. She had clearly read my book with interest and care. Particularly with the dwindling print media devoted to books, the literary world is fortunate to have BookRadio."

Notes From The Last Days of

American Spaceflight

Margaret Lazarus Dean

margaret lazarus_dean

2015 marks the 50th Anniversary of Astronaut Alan Shepard's successful trip aboard the "Freedom 7" – the first American to rocket 116 miles into Space. When she was just seven, Author Margaret Lazarus Dean visited The Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. Over the next few years, her fascination with Astronauts like Shepard, space flight and NASA's Shuttle program grew. Ultimately, she wrote a novel about the space program ("The Time It Takes To Fall"). As an Associate Professor of English at the University of Tennessee, Dean was compelled to write this thoughtful and provocative chronicle of NASA's STS Program. From the Columbia to the Atlantis, there were 135 Shuttle missions spanning 3 decades. Dean witnessed the final flight at Cape Canaveral in July, 2011. Her chronicle of a bygone era is a clarion call to never forget those who risked their lives to soar into Space and touch the Moon.

A Novel

Catherine Chanter

The worst drought on record is creating social and economic upheaval in Britain. But somehow, a 30-acre farm in the countryside remains strikingly verdant. No one, including transplanted Londoners-turned-farmers Ruth and Mark Ardingly, knows why crops grow, fruit trees blossom, and sheep flourish on their farm, known as "The Well". Neighboring farmers grow envious, the British Environmental authorities move in to investigate and the farm is visited by a strange group of women who are members of a new religious order called the Sisters of the Rose. For Mark, Ruth and their grandson Lucien, their bucolic life at "The Well" comes at a terrible price amid accusations of witchcraft, wrongdoing and ultimately, murder.

A Nail-By-Nail Tale Building

Our Dream Cottage from

2X4s, Blisters, and Love

Spike Carlsen

The Finnish Proverb Oma Tupa, Oma Lupa means "One's Cabin, One's Freedom". It became the mantra for award-winning Author Spike Carlsen, his wife Kat and their blended family of 5 children as they began a 3 year quest to find a perfect spot and build a lakeside dream cottage. Today, the 600 square foot cabin, replete with beamed cathedral ceiling, sleeping loft and twin exterior decks, sits on a gentle slope overlooking Crystal Bay on the Minnesota side of Lake Superior. In his memoir, former Carpentry Contractor and "Family Handyman" magazine Editor, Teacher and award-winning Author Spike Carlsen offers some wonderfully illustrated building tips, photos and gentle "Rules" – wise guidelines for building strong family bonds with hands, head and heart. Be warned: "Cabin Lessons" may create a pleasant case of "Cabin Envy".
