"Kari is a total pro. She put me at ease immediately and asked smart questions. She had clearly read my book with interest and care. Particularly with the dwindling print media devoted to books, the literary world is fortunate to have BookRadio."

Erwin Chemerinsky

University of California, Irvine

School of Law

erwin chemerinsky

Established in 1789, the U.S. Supreme Court needs to be reformed because no matter what, ideology matters and a Justice's socio-political views are often a powerful factor in how the Court decides cases. So contends University of California, Irvine Law School Dean, Erwin Chemerinsky, a Constitutional Law expert who's argued a few cases before the Court during his 30-plus year career. Chemerinsky argues that the Supreme Court has failed its Constitutional duty to stop discrimination and protect people's rights. He presents a strong case, citing history and today's largely Conservative Roberts Court as examples of why the selection and confirmation of Justices should be based on merit and their Terms limited. Chemerinsky also says the Court's cases should be televised so all citizens can watch a crucial branch of government at work.

A Novel

Mathew Thomas

matthew thomas

In his sweeping debut novel, Author Matthew Thomas tells the 20th Century story of an Irish-American family pursuing the American Dream across 3 generations. For ambitious Nursing Administrator Eileen Tumulty, the dream is love and marriage and a home a world away from her immigrant parent's cramped Woodside tenement in Queens. When she meets and marries brain researcher Edmund Leary, Eileen keeps pushing and striving for more, hoping her husband will share her ambitions. She snags a "fixer" in suburban Bronxville where the couple raises their son, Connell. When Edmund's earlier reluctance begins to manifest a much deeper dilemma, the family must hold together, bound by hope and love.
