"Kari Moran did a wonderful interview with me. Many unique questions, and for a change, this interviewer had read my book, "The Cavendon Women". Her charming manner also added a lot to our conversation."

-Barbara Taylor Bradford

"Kari is a total pro. She put me at ease immediately and asked smart questions. She had clearly read my book with interest and care. Particularly with the dwindling print media devoted to books, the literary world is fortunate to have BookRadio."

“PERV”

THE SEXUAL DEVIANT IN ALL OF US

By

Jesse Bering, Ph.D.

Sexual deviancy...if it causes "personal distress" it's considered to be a mental illness called a "Paraphilia". Psychologist and Author Jesse Bering tells Kari there are more than 500 known Paraphilias – everything from having sex with animals (Bestiality) to achieving sexual satisfaction by being tickled (Knismolagnia) to having sex in front of mirrors (Katoptronophilia). In "PERV", Bering presents the latest findings from the nascent science of human sexuality, arguing that society must stop asking what's "normal" and "natural" and start asking what's harmful. If it isn't hurtful to others or downright unlawful, Bering says we need to consider the vast scope of erotic stimuli with greater understanding and empathy because, as human beings, we all have our turn-ons, whether we want to admit it or not.

“THE ETERNAL WONDER”

A Novel

By

Pearl S. Buck

(Winner of the 1932 Pulitzer for "The Good Earth" and the first American woman to win the Nobel Prize in Literature - 1938)

The last of the more than 3 dozen novels written by iconic Author Peal S. Buck surfaced earlier this year when a manuscript of "The Eternal Wonder" was discovered in a storage container in Austin, Texas. It had been stolen from Buck's home in Vermont. She died there in 1973 at the age of 80. Buck was a prolific writer and teacher who spent her formative years in China with her missionary parents. Kari talks with her youngest son Edgar Walsh about her final novel. It’s the story of child prodigy Randolph Colfax, a literary wunderkind who is obsessed with learning and yet yearns for meaningful connection. Walsh tells Kari he thinks "The Eternal Wonder" is really his famous mother's not-so-secret autobiography.

"If at first you don't succeed..." well, immensely popular "Dilbert" cartoonist Scott Adams knows the rest of that familiar phrase all too well! He talks with Kari about his success amid a sea of failures. Adams relates how he learned to be on the lookout for a pattern of opportunities that make it easier for Lady Luck to find you!
